Yay, I finished my secret Santa to fellow BLTII creator and friend Cake Face. So originally my plan was to do a color comic where I sneak down her chimney dressed as Santa Claus while the fire was still burning. But I didn't like where that was going so I scraped it for another idea! DM and I were starting to RP about ol' school black and white cartoons from the 1920's and 30's. Old stuff like Mickey Mouse, Oswald, Felix the Cat, Popeye, vintage guys like that. And that's when I got the idea of doing a black and white style picture featuring me and her fursona, who is now a Fennec fox.
Of course the fun part about this was that I got to draw myself and Lilian as black and white cartoon characters. That meant the characters had to be simple yet effectively fun. For Lilian that was easy, just take some inspiration from Felix the Cat and his girlfriend. Myself on the other hand was another matter entirely. Apparently no one in the 1920's or 1930's thought to make a giraffe character. Weird right? So I think I'm the first one to draw a giraffe with this style before. Awesome!
